Wanda Jean Fannin
Wanda Jean Fannin, 91, of Wheelersburg, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Concord Health Center in Wheelersburg. Wanda was born October 21, 1931 in Scioto County, Ohio Furnace to the late Clifford Carlton Riley and Letha Mae Buckler Riley. Wanda was employed at Reidenbach Pharmacy for 7-1/2 years and retired from K-Mart after 18 years. Wanda attended schools in Cleveland, Ironton and Green Township. She did volunteer work at SOMC and RSVP and was active with the March of Dimes. Wanda loved playing golf, was a member of Little Scioto Country Club and played in a lot of tournaments, kept score with Bob Hope and his wife at Jack Nicklaus Pro Am in Columbus. Wanda was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by the father of her children William Martin and her second husband, Eugene Fannin. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters; Thurston, Marie Sprouse, Sable, Curtis, Ferlen, John, and Mary Hall. Wanda was the youngest of the children. Also, preceding Wanda was two sisters-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Betty Riley and several nieces and nephews. Wanda is survived by one son, Douglas Martin of South Webster; three daughters, Deborah Piguet of Wheelersburg, Jan Martin of Lucasville and Chrys Martin of Springfield; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Services for Wanda will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 20, 2023 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Brad Brandt officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, 12:00 pm until the 1:00 pm service. The family requests Memorial Contributions be made in Wanda’s name to SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth or Concord Health Center in Wheelersburg.
