Stephen Spencer Adkins

Stephen Spencer Adkins, 65, of McDermott, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 in South Webster.

He was born July 2, 1960 in Portsmouth a son of the late Walter “Jr” and Mildred Baldridge Adkins.

Stephen was self-employed entrepreneur with many interests and talents and was a 1978 Northwest High School graduate.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Wermuth Adkins; one son, Justyn Adkins; one granddaughter, Chloe; and one brother, Danny Adkins.

Stephen is survived by two sons, Stephen Adkins of Portsmouth and Jason Adkins of McDermott; nine grandchildren; Jonah, Jason II, Jamison, Jadess, Jaxden, Jozi, Leland, Braiden, Emma; four brothers, Keith Adkins of McDermott, Kenny (Rita) Adkins of Portsmouth, Jeff (Elaine) Adkins of McDermott, and Joe Adkins of McDermott; four sisters, Pam (Paul) Barnes of Lucasville, Kathy (Mark) Croft of Portsmouth, Angie (Roger) Tackett of Kentucky, and Sandy Adkins of McDermott; friend who was a bonus brother, Carlton “Tank” Shultz of South Webster.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
