Laura “Lynn” Russell, 55, of Lucasville, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
She was born February 25, 1971 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Tom and Kay Yates and the late Roger Russell Sr.. Lynn was a 1989 Valley High School graduate and worked as a social worker/activities director at River Run Healthcare of Portsmouth.
Lynn is survived by her brother, Roger (Lottie) Russell Jr. of Lucasville; her sister, Donna (Scott) Jordan of McDermott; her companion, Travis Foreman of Lucasville; three nephews, Kyle (Heather) Rowe, Maxton Rowe, and Kamden Rowe; and Travis’s three children and seven grandchildren.
She was, without question, one of the most genuine, caring, and thoughtful souls to have ever walked this earth. Her kindness was not something she turned on and off – it was simply who she was in every moment, with every person she met. She was a devoted sister, a loving and loyal girlfriend, and above all, she found her greatest joy in being an incredible aunt. Her nephews, Maxton and Kamden, were the light of her life, and she poured her whole heart into loving, guiding, and cherishing them. The bond she shared with them was something truly special, and it will live on in the memories, laughter, and love she leaves behind. She made the world a better place just by being in it, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were blessed to know her.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Monday, March 30, 2026 at Scioto Cemetery on Cockrells Run Road, with Roger Powell officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 2:00 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
