Ronald “Ron” Woodruff

Ronald “Ron” Woodruff, 67 years of age, longtime Portsmouth resident, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2021.

Ron was a carpenter who worked with his brothers all his life. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom and ginseng hunting. He loved vacationing in the mountains and spending time with his family. Ron had an infectious laugh and could always make you smile. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Margaret “Mag” (Nee Lewis)u Blizzard, Carolyn McIntire, Evelynn Conn, Cathryn Caldwell, Nadine Woodruff, Verna Woodruff.
Ron is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Rodney and Bobbie and Osborne of Portsmouth, and Ron Woodruff, II, and Rebecca Russ of Portsmouth, one daughter, Candus Woodruff of Chillicothe, five grandchildren, two sisters, Olive Fraley of Portsmouth and Phyllis Brawnsiski of New Jersey and his cousin Dovie Havens of Portsmouth.
Private services will be held by the family at a later date.

    He was a good man. He likes cutting the grass on the riding lawn mower when his son and Becky were weed eating. the rest of the yard. He also like to talk and joke with Jerry on the front porch and I still remember his smiling. face I will never forget his smile. It was like we knew him all his life. He will be sadly missed.
