OHSAA Computer Rankings Week 9

Area teams in bold

Heading into week 10 of the regular season, several area teams in both divisions of the Sothern Ohio Conference and the Ohio Valley Conference have punched their ticket to the postseason, while others need a win to secure a berth in the playoffs.

Locally, the Wheelersburg Pirates and the Ironton Fighting Tigers have locked up home games for the first round, while Waverly has nailed down a spot in the playoffs, needing a win and several teams to lose to guarantee a home game in Round One.

Gallia Academy, Portsmouth and Oak Hill all are currently in the top eight and control their own destiny to remain in the hunt or to move up the ladder. The Trojans will certainly remain and grab a ton of points with a road win against the #1 ranked Fighting Tigers, while the Oaks must pick up a home win this Friday against Waverly to stay in the picture. Minford sits just outside the last spot in Div. V, Region 19 and needs to beat their arch-rival, the Valley Indians and parlay a possible Oak Hill loss to have a shot at playing extra weeks.
