Linda Carole Cook

Linda Carole Cook, 86, of Lucasville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 24, 2026 at SOMC Hospice.

She was born January 29, 1940 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Walter and Agnes Ellis Carver. Linda worked in banking at Security Central and Bank One in Lucasville, and Desco in Portsmouth and New Boston. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lee Cook on November 2, 2025; a son, Terry Ray Sargent; a daughter, Misty Cook Spicer; her sisters, Bonalean Carver and Judy Carver Conley; and her brothers, Bill and Walter E. Carver.

Linda is survived by Elaine Sargent Hobes (Rick) of McDermott, and their children, Matt Hobes, Terra Hobes, and Nathan Banks; Vickie Bach (Roger Webb) and her sons, Brandon Bach and Adam Brown; Penny Stearns and her children, Andrew Ricks, Raeshele Ricks, and Hannah Stears; Mistie’s son, Ben Spicer; her sister, Sheila (Don) Adkins; her brother, Jerry Carver (Nancy Thomas); special nephews Will and Camilo Crabtree; a total of eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the McKinley Funeral Home, with Bud Mefford officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the services on Thursday at the funeral home.
