Wilburta Kay Whitaker

Wilburta Kay Whitaker, 70, of Lucasville passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026 at her residence.

She was born November 13, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio a daughter of the late Thomas and Violet Taylor Lowe.

Kay was a homemaker and 1974 graduate of Franklin Heights High School in Columbus.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Whitaker Sr. April 29, 2022; and her sister, Kathryn Pack.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Melissa Lynn Johnson (Aaron Franklin) of Lucasville; her granddaughter, Kylie Johnson of Lucasville; and her brother, James Davis of Columbus.

Visitation will be held Noon to 1 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville. A graveside service will follow in Scioto Burial Park at McDermott with Joe Nelson officiating.
