Minnie’s first love was her farm. She had been a true farmer’s wife since 1963 and worked side-by-side Shorty every step of the way. She worked in the fields alongside Shorty, and made sure that all the farm hands were fed. You never knew who would be eating a full course meal at her house. She worked in the fields as well as maintained a well-run house. She supported all the jobs Shorty had 100%. You never saw one without the other. When Shorty passed, she continued to run the farm with the efforts of her grandson Wesley. She couldn’t be prouder of the farmer he had become. She also had already helped raise her grandchildren and began filling her time between farming and staying active with her great grandchildren. She was either babysitting, buying Thomas the Trains or Legos, or sitting at a ballfield, or any other school function that the great grandchildren participated in. She never missed a Pike County Fair to watch the great grandchildren show their 4-H projects. You could always find her sitting in the goat barn or in the multi-purpose building waiting for a show to begin, or at the campers taking a break. Minnie always put other’s wants and needs before herself especially her kids/grandchildren. She has always lived a humble life. She was always proud of her children/grandchildren and all their accomplishments. While she was very proud of all her great grandchildren, she was most proud that the farm would continue on through the generations by her great grandson Carter. Minnie will always be remembered and loved as has been shown over the past few weeks by family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m.on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home, Waverly with Kevin Pauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Union Cemetery, Beaver.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
