Fonda Bowling

Fonda Bowling, 88, of New Boston, formerly of Lucasville, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at SOMC Hospice.

She was born July 11, 1938 in Greenup, KY, a daughter of the late John and Mary Sloam Lawhun Horsley.

Fonda was a former Stitcher for Williams Manufacturing and a homemaker. She was a kindhearted and caring community servant providing food and fellowship for the Buckeye Tower Community. She was a member of Pilgrim Wesleyan Church in South Webster as well as Community Bible Church in Lucasville.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde “Peanut” Bowling, November 12, 2007, whom she married February 24, 1961; and two brothers, Merlen and Glenn Horsley.

Fonda is survived by one son, David (Tracy) Bowling of New Boston; three daughters, Roxanne (Harry) Meade of Lucasville, Donna (L.D.) Stevens of South Shore, KY, and Marilyn (Jeremy) Miller of McDermott; nine grandsons, David, Jimmy, David, Jonathan, Jamie, Jarrod, Tyson, Cole, and John; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, David Horsley of McDermott; one sister, Avanell Vance of Sciotoville; and two sisters-in-law, Ethel Ferrell of Sciotoville and Mary Mottashed of Lucasville.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:30 Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Dr. Joe Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.
