LouAnn Blair

LouAnn Blair, 69, of Portsmouth, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley in Ironton. She was born on June 12, 1955, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Luther ‘Jay’ and Kathleen Jean Newsome Middleton.

A 1973 graduate of Portsmouth High School, she married William ‘Bill’ Berlin Blair on June 16, 1973. The couple had been married for 41 years at the time of Bill’s passing on August 8, 2014.

LouAnn worked for more than 25 years at the Portsmouth Daily Times. She had also worked briefly for Covert’s Furniture and for Hallmark Health Care.

When her children were young, she and Bill spent many hours as Little League and Senior League Baseball volunteers. However, her greatest passion was spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. LouAnn also loved the holidays and relaxing while watching Lifetime movies with her family.

Surviving are her two sons, William Shane (Michelle) Blair and Aaron Scott Blair, all of Portsmouth; her sister, Victoria Jane ‘Janie’ Lucas of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren, Bailey (Dustyn) Flannery, Skylar, Austin and Ethan Blair, Michael (Caitlyn) James, Dajah (Alan) George, Christian Blair, and Joey Holsinger; and nine great-grandchildren, August, Elias and Indi Flannery, Alyssa Holsinger, Michael and Milo James, and Alayna, Jenson and Blaze George.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Chuck Holsinger officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the service hour on Wednesday.
