John Edward Thompson

John Edward Thompson, 88, of Lucasville, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at home. He was born November 20, 1935 in New Boston, son of the late Charles and Darlene Craycraft Thompson.

He was a retired engineer from USEC and a member of Lucasville Masonic Lodge #465.

John was a Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 23. He proudly mentored 17 young men through their Eagle Scout journey.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Risner Thompson, who he married September 12, 1959; a son, John “Chris” Thompson (Soo In Bae) of Powell; a grandson, Matthew Thompson; and a sister, Faye Lewis, of Dayton.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Rubyville Community Church. Burial will follow in Rubyville Community Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, April 22, 2004, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, and an hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the church.
