Anna Margaret Davis,
Anna Margaret Davis, 95, of Bolivar, OH and formerly of Wheelersurg, OH, went home to be
with her Lord and Savior at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, OH on
July 26, 2023. She was surrounded by family in her peaceful transition.
Anna was born on July 17, 1928 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Hord Earl and Iva (Nicely) Frye.
After losing her mother at a young age, Anna was guided by her step-mother, Bessie Edith Frye,
whom she loved dearly.
Along with her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edward Davis.
Anna and Lawrence married on August 2, 1963 and took up residence at the family farm. Anna
enjoyed the work of home making and farm life. She was an avid gardener and cook. She took
great joy in witnessing to everyone about the wonderful works of the Lord and sharing the food
she prepared with visitors, friends and loved ones. She made certain there was a dinner every
Sunday for the family up until her passing. Her faith was nourished through her lifelong
membership at Stoney Run Tabernacle. Anna also took pride in supporting Henley Baptist
Church.
Also preceding Anna were sons, Phil Cochran, Roger Davis, and Edward Davis; sisters, Kate
Brown, Garnet Davis, Delores Frye, Maxine Howard, and Pamela Adkins; brothers, Wayne
Frye, Edward Frye, Hord Frye, Terry Frye, Doc Frye, and Michael Frye; and grandchildren,
Tracy Jo Davis and Melissa Ann Davis.
Anna is survived by her son, Rick (Valerie, deceased) Cochran of Wheelersburg; daughters,
Melody (Rick) Niblick of Bolivar and Cathy (Gary) Sirek of Wheelersburg; sisters, Rosy (Junior)
Wiley, Sue Frye, Marva Frye, and Barbara (Jack, deceased) Stecher of West Portsmouth;
grandchildren, Nathan Cochran, Shane (Wendy) Cochran, Lisa (Matt) Tomazin, Billie Jo (Brian)
White, Brett (Jennifer) Claxon, Matt (Ashley) Claxon, Jay Niblick, Erin (Tom) Poole, Douglas (Melissa) Davis, Jill (Mark)
Hardin, Angela (Michael) Martin, and Stephen (Jennifer) Davis; daughters-in-law Judy (Roger,
deceased) Davis and Christy (Edward, deceased) Davis; and numerous nieces, and nephews
and great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday, July 28 at D. W. Swick Funeral Home (11901 Gallia Pike
Wheelersburg, OH 45694) from 5 to 7 PM with a service Saturday at 11 AM at the funeral home,
officiated by Pastor Junior Wiley. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Wheelersburg, OH.
