Charles Glenn Tackett
Charles Glenn Tackett, 92, formerly of South Webster, passed away July 7, 2023 in Tennessee. He was born May 15, 1931 in South Webster. He was the sixth child and second son of Willis “Wid” Tackett and Clara Edna (Fields) Tackett. He was a Christian and a member of South Webster Baptist Church. Charlie has always been a man of integrity; a kind and gentle man.
He was employed at General Motors in Dayton, Ohio for 31 years. After his retirement, he spent the next 30 years as a caregiver to elderly people who needed help. Charlie never met a stranger and was always available to assist anyone.
One of his hobbies was raising cane and making sorghum that he gave to friends. Also, he planted and harvested large organic gardens from which he distributed fruit and vegetables to friends and relatives.
Charlie is survived by a sister, Janice Lee; four sons and wives, Donald and Cathy, Robert Dean and Nancy, Vaughn and Jill and Daniel; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a very special friend, Margaret Fletcher, a special neice, Judy Tackett along with several other neices, nephews and numerous relatives and friends who were very special to him.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosanna Dell; a brother, William “Bill” Tackett; four sisters, Eva Fletcher, Lathona “Toni” Harwood, Elsie “Patricia” Vallance, Hazel Gambill and a nephew Ronald Tackett.
