Connie Sue (Coyle) Dineen
Connie Dineen (71) passed away on May 20, 2023 from a rare neurodegenerative disorder, Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). She was born July 21, 1951 in southern Ohio. After graduating from high school, she moved to Alexandria, Virginia and worked at the Pentagon, where she met her husband Bob Dineen. Connie graduated from George Mason University with a bachelor’s and later a master’s degree in education. That led to a career as a teacher and later as an administrator in the Fairfax County School system. She was very active and held several statewide offices in Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional society for women educators. Upon retirement, Connie trained for and volunteered as a Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), working with children and families. Connie was also well known as an athlete, playing tennis, coed volleyball and football, ping pong, softball, and pickleball. She was a devoted wife and a loyal friend. Connie is survived by her beloved husband Bob, cherished dog Daisy, brother Jerry, sister Betty, niece Samantha, stepson Mike, stepdaughter Kellie, and a host colleagues and friends.
