Joy Ann Butler

Joy Ann Butler, 92, of McDermott, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 28, 1930 in Red Oak, Iowa, a daughter of the late Hubert and Ethel Madden Jordan.

Joy was the owner of the former ABC Market on Duck Run, a member of the Rush Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a 1949 McDermott High School graduate and a SOMC volunteer. She was also a member of Temple Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Butler Jr., March 20, 1996; and one brother, Charles Jordan.

Joy is survived by her children, Cathy (Mike) Glenn, Brenda (Phil) Moore, and Mike (Carla) Butler, all of McDermott; five grandchildren, Andrea (Jason) Brown, Amy (Jared) Lute, Lindsay (David) Adkins, Tyson (Heather) Butler, and Brian (Tasha) Glenn; 10 great-grandchildren, Reece Lute, Carter Lute, Jaxon Lute, Roman Glenn, Luke Adkins, Jake Brown, Bristol Glenn, Kaylie Moore, Tayler Butler, and Olivia Brown;  and two sisters, Wanda Adair of Alabama and Carolyn Fuller of Columbus.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Monday, June 4, 2023at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with John Gowdy officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and an hour prior to the funeral Monday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Joy to Temple Time at Temple Baptist Church or McDermott United Methodist Church.
