Scott Eugene Phipps

Scott Eugene Phipps, 72, of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at SOMC Hospice.

He was born May 6, 1951 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Lester and Bertie Jenkins Phipps.

Scott was a retired service technician for Starner’s Heating and Air Conditioning in Reynoldsburg and a Nurnberg American High School graduate.

He was also preceded in death by nine brothers, Alfred, Benny, Milton, Homer, Freddie, Leslie, Darrell, Mike, and Lester Phipps Jr.; and two sisters, Judy Gee and Felsia Booth.

Scott is survived by his wife, Theresa Fitch Phipps, whom he married May 14, 1974 in Lucasville; his son, Scottie (Terra) Phipps of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Haley, Landyn, Nova, and Avi; and one sister, Margie (Michael) Cox of Marengo.

Visitation will be held from noon till 1:30 p.m.  Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Graveside Military Rites to follow in Big Run Cemetery by the William Baker and James F. Irwin Posts of the American Legion.
