Willard “Moon” Mullens

Willard “Moon” Mullens, 84, of Lucasville, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at SOMC Hospice.

He was born June 1, 1938 in Sciotoville, a son of the late Milo and Flossie Bell Lanning Mullens Sr.

Moon was a retired Brakeman for Norfolk & Southern Railroad with 37 years of service, a US Army veteran, and former motorman for Rayburn Racing.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Donna Lee Hardin Mullens, July 14, 2022; six brothers, and five sisters.

Moon is survived by his daughters, Lynn Bishop of Lucasville and Malinda Mullens of Lucasville; one son, Scott (Sherri) Mullens of Lucasville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Roy Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park where military graveside rites will be performed by the William Baker and James F. Irwin Posts of the American Legion. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and an hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
