John R. McGinnis

John R. McGinnis of 11828 Hwy 52, Stout, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, April 14, 2023.

John died the same way he lived: on his own terms. He went quickly and comfortably, at home, surrounded by loved ones and listening to his favorite Jimmy Buffet tunes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Kerry Ballew; son Nate McGinnis; daughter-in-law Sandy McGinnis; Nate’s children, Nathaniel McGinnis, Layla McGinnis (and fiance Jeremy McCloud), and Ryan McGinnis; daughters Rachael McGinnis and Joanna Deal; the Ballew family: Walter, Alise, Jolene, Greg, Brenda, and Catherine Ballew, and John and Pamela (Ballew) Baltsas; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Daehler Mortuary will perform cremation, and ashes will be scattered at some of John’s favorite spots at later dates.

The family plans to celebrate John’s life on Sunday, May 7, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at Shawnee Marina on Hwy 52 in Stout.
