Dorothy Jean Jordan Ross Williams

Dorothy Jean Jordan Ross Williams, 93, of Waverly, Ohio passed away on March 29, 2023 at Traditions of Bristol Village in Waverly.  She was born November 14, 1929 in Piketon, Ohio to Abe and Junie Jordan. She was the youngest of eight siblings. She graduated from Piketon High School in 1947. Dorothy worked as a waitress, it was there she met her husband Tom Ross. After knowing each other for only two days, they married on July 11, 1955 in Daleville, Indiana.

They moved to Momence, Illinois where they raised their four children, George “Butch” Ross of Illinois, Joe Ross of Montana, Debra who preceded her in death, and Jeff Ross of California. Dorothy has ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. When her husband Tom passed away and driving to Piketon every year to visit family, Dorothy decided Piketon would be her home.

Dorothy’s family grew when she married George Williams on June 26, 1993. George preceded her in death. She was a loving Step Mother to his three children, Glenda Pierce, Cathy Williams and Eric Williams; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dorothy loved and enjoyed being a part of the Williams family.

Special thanks to the Jordan Family who took care of Dorothy in her last days, surrounding her in love, music and scripture.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Donnie Robertson officiating.  Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery in Piketon.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
