Gerald Wayne DeAtley, 71, of Lucasville, passed away from this earthly life and entered his heavenly home on March 25th, 2023. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, and is survived by his loving wife Laurel DeAtley of 48 years. Together they have five sons and 11 grandkids! Gerald was a member of Carpenter’s Local 437, and worked at the Gaseous Diffusion Plant as a firefighter and EMT. He was a faithful member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church. He never met a stranger, and he was a frequent flyer at Minford Airport for breakfast where he met with friends on many early mornings.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert DeAtley and Wilma DeAtley. He is survived by his two siblings David DeAtley and Rita (Tim) Bosworth. He is survived by his five sons: Craig (Heather) DeAtley, Shawn (Jenn) DeAtley, Seth (Jasmine) DeAtley, Brandon DeAtley, and Tyler (Kristen) DeAtley, as well as 11 grandkids: Laurianne, Myles, Macie, Noella, Shilo, Mason, Carson, Bryson, Paxton, Kalianna, and one on the way.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Nahum O’Brien officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
