Norma Jean Pyles

Norma Jean Pyles, 90 of Fertile, Minnesota, formally of Friendship, passed into the arms of the Lord on March 15th 2023 in Fargo, North Dakota. She was born June 5, 1932 in Portsmouth, to the late Oray V. and Flossie L. Dulaney Murray.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William H. Pyles, whom she married on August 1, 1953 in Friendship, a brother, Carl Murray and a sister Ruby Sloan Clark.

Norma was a longtime member of Friendship United Methodist Church and was a fervent believer of the Lord.

She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. Norma is survived by a son William Jay Pyles(Tammy) of Fertile Mn and a daughter Polly Ann Pyles of Chillicothe, 7 grandchildren: Ben Mingus of Minford, Trevor Mingus of Arvada, Colorado, Katy Lindamood of Ashland, Kentucky, David Abeldgaard of Mahnomen, Minnesota, Amanda Range of Dallas Texas, Christopher Pyles of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Sean Dickens of Aberdeen, South Dakota, along with 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday March 24, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Tom Williams officiating. Interment will be in Worley’s Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
