John Daniel Adkins

John Daniel Adkins, 74 of Oak Hill, passed away Wednesday March 8, 2023 at Cabell Huntington Hospital after a long illness. He was born Auguat 11, 1948 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Benjamin and Jane (Coon) Adkins. He attended the former Kenneth Lewis School in Oak Hill and was a member of Beauty of Holiness Church in Jackson.
He loved to go fishing, hunting, collecting Indian artifacts and travel around collecting junk.
John is survived by two brothers, Benjamin Adkins Jr. and wife Judy of Chula Vista, CA and Wendell Adkins of Oak Hill; Cathy Pendleton and Rhonda Smith who were like daughters to him as well as other nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Barbara Hommes Adkins whom he married in 1968.
Graveside Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday March 14, 2023 at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Pastor Ryan Hagen officiating with interment to follow.
