Michael Eugene Cline, Jr.

Michael Eugene Cline, Jr., 56, of Lucasville, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at SOMC Hospice, after a 14 year battle with cancer.

He was born June 11, 1969 in Bucyrus, Ohio, a son of the late Michael and Patricia Applegate Cline. Michael was a 1988 Portsmouth West High School graduate and former welder for M&J Welding in Lucasville and SFI in New Boston. He was a fireman with Jefferson Township Fire Department for 26 years and enjoyed fishing and watching football.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Jacob Cline, and a brother, John Cline.

Michael is survived by his wife, Debra “Sis” Melvin Cline, who he married on February 18, 1995 in Sciotoville; a son, Ethan Cline of Clarktown; a daughter, Kaylynn (Chastin) Leeth of Clarktown; two grandchildren, Hadlee Grace Leeth and Colt Jacob Neal Leeth; four sisters, Laura Barnett of South Webster, Tracey Cline , Jodie Cline, and Shelly (Jason) Shultz, all of West Portsmouth; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday, January 11, 2026 at McKinley Funeral Home, with Brett McGraw and Kenny Estep officiating. Burial will follow in Jacobs Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, January 10, 2026, and an hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
