Hannah Cox, 97, of Lucasville, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her girls.
She was born, December 23, 1927, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Arvil and Nervie Lands Traylor.
Hannah was a homemaker, a member of the Morgan Twp. Over 50 Club, a member of the Outreach Ministry, and enjoyed her weekly visits to the Portsmouth Senior Center.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Glen Cox, April 21, 1996; her daughter, Glenda Powell; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Sarah, and Amanda; six sisters, Judy Altop, Alice Hall, Agnes Stone, Ocie Blanton, Stella Gibson, and Betty Rhea; and four brothers, George, Henry, Estel, and Jesse Traylor.
Hannah is survived by three daughters, Donna (Bud) Pettay of Lucasville, Gayl (Elwood) Howard of Piketon, and Cheryl (Jim) Ridenour of Lucasville; son-in-law, Phillip Powell of Lucasville; Nine grandchildren, Amy Stiltner, Jessica Frember, Wayne Pettay, Glen Pettay, Tracy Hughes, Miranda Wallace, Jesse Leslie, Jerimiah Ridenour, and Hannah McGaughey; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Mikaila Frember, Nevaeh and Amaya Stiltner, Mackenzie Easter, Gabriel Pettay, Felicity Adkins, Kalie Pettay-Malone, Amelia Pettay, Connor, Colin, Garrett, and Colt Hughes; Hadley and Hayden Wallace, Lane, Trace, and Clayton Leslie; four great great-grandchildren, Crew, Hudson, Reed Frember, and Eleanor Adkins; best friend Betty Chambliss and her daughters, Rose, Karen, and Bev; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Tracy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. before the service.
