Roy McCall
Roy McCall, 87 of Lucasville, Ohio, died on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. He was born on April 27, 1937 in Scioto County.
Roy grew up on his family farm in northwestern Scioto County. He operated the same farm for most of his long life. In 1956, Roy graduated from Valley High School. He spent two years working in Scioto County and Columbus, Ohio. At the same time, he served in the US Marine Corps Reserve. He then joined the US Army, which stationed him in Georgia and Germany.
Shortly after returning to the US from Germany, Roy left the Army and returned to southern Ohio. He rediscovered his calling in agriculture. In addition to operating the family farm, he worked for CountryMark in sales and management for 32 years. He actively volunteered in his community, serving as a Scout leader, coaching multiple sports teams, and helping run the Pleasant Valley Community of Christ food pantry of which he was a member. He was a Morgan Township Trustee, founding member of the Pro-Beef Alliance, and 2006 Scioto County Farmer of the Year.
He is survived by Rozana Crabtree McCall, his wife of 67 years; daughters Rhonda (Jim) Webb and Rebecca (Scott) Buckler; son Ryan (Rachel) McCall; grandchildren Craig Webb, Ashley Buckler, Caleb Buckler, Roy McCall, and Reed McCall; and great-grandchildren Anakin Buckler and Viviana Webb. He was preceded in death by his mother Sarah Margaret Morgan, his beloved grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, son-in-law, Scott Buckler, and other in-laws.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Pleasant Valley Community of Christ with Donnie and Jeanette Rachford officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park where Military graveside rites will be performed by the William Baker and James F. Irwin Posts of the American Legion. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, and again on Saturday at the church, an hour prior to the funeral service.
