Clarence Wayne Anderson

Clarence Wayne Anderson, 88, of Lucasville, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. Wayne was born on July 26, 1936 in South Shore, KY to Clarence “Sweet Bird” and Roberta Anderson.

After graduating from McKell High School, he went on to join the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. He was known by his fellow soldiers as “Andy”. Wayne was married to Jacqueline Taylor of South Shore, KY on May 7, 1955. They had two children, Edmund Anderson (Mary) and Paula “Diann” Ronan (Terry). Wayne and Jackie raised their children in Arizona and fondly called Tonto Basin home. In later years, Wayne and Jackie moved to Ohio to be closer to family.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his wife Jackie and daughter Diann. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his son Ed (Mary), son-in-law, Terry, five devoted grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Prior to his passing, he was gifted an American flag that had flown above the nation’s capital in honor of his service to our country. In his final days, he was able to remain pain free and surrounded by family and friends in the care of SOMC Hospice. Wayne requested that no formal services be held after his passing. Immediate family will gather to remember and honor Wayne.
