Frances Eileen Hilderbrand (Delabar)

Frances Eileen Hilderbrand (Delabar), 87, passed away February 7, 2025 at Kobacker House in Columbus. Eileen was born December 5, 1937 in Wheelersburg, Ohio to the late Albert and Marie (Schwamberger) Delabar . In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, James Hilderbrand. Eileen is survived by two daughters, Ann (Niels) Braam of Columbus and Theresa (Steve) Rasmussen of Glenview, IL; a sister, Alberta Scherer of Portsmouth; and grandchildren Finn, Annika and Luke Braam, and Jamie, Charlie and Stella Rasmussen.

Eileen was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, and neighbor. But her absolute favorite title and the joy of her life was being grandma to her six grandchildren. Over the past 19 years, she spent much of her time attending countless baseball and softball games, dance recitals, soccer and volleyball games, cross country meets, and many school functions with them. Nothing brought her more joy or made her more proud than seeing those six grandkids and spending as much time with them as possible. She was also a loyal fan of the Buckeyes and her beloved Cincinnati Reds. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Fr. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends and family at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church from 11am-1pm on Tuesday, February 11.
