Douglas Holt
Douglas Holt, 73, of Lucasville, died Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
He was born December 14, 1951, in Pike County, Kentucky, a son of the late Elmer and Alpha “Charlie” Cable Holt. Doug was a 1969 Northwest High School graduate and a US Army veteran. He was a retired supervisor from the former Brown Corporation in Waverly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Lois Worth Holt, on November 11, 2018; a brother Elmer “Butch” Holt; and a sister, Janet Holt.
Doug is survived by his daughter, Samantha Holt of Lucasville; his sons, Douglas Holt Jr. of Kentucky and Adam (Lucinda) Holt of West Portsmouth; his brothers, James Holt of Lucasville, Terry (Juanita) Holt of Lucasville, and John Holt of Lucasville; his sisters, Clara (John) Jackson of Belpre, Bessie Blevins of Lucasville, and Eddie Sue Whitt of Lucasville; a bonus brother, Josh Sullivan; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, with Larry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Cemetery, with graveside military services by the William Baker and James Irwin posts, American Legion. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the services at the funeral home.
