Marguerite “Peggy” Goodman Burchett Lute
Marguerite “Peggy” Goodman Burchett Lute, better known as “Granny” to all, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.
She was born December 22, 1929 in New Boston, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Kelsey Sloan Goodman.
Granny was a homemaker, a 1946 Portsmouth High School graduate, and Scioto County School sports fan, following all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Burchett Jr. and Roger Lute; one brother, Gary Goodman; one sister, Dorothy Johnson and step-son, Wayne Lute.
Peggy is survived by her children, Dave Burchett of Portsmouth, Myrna Fisher of Portsmouth, Beverly Sue (Frank) Clark of Clarktown, Linda Burchett of Ft. Myers, FL, Jon (Julie) Burchett of McDermott, and Ann Shirey of Minford; step children, David Lute and Linda Smith; eight grandchildren, Mike, David, and Frank Burchett, Michael Phillips, Jessica Neal, Noah and Greg Shirey, and Jaclyn Burchett; 16 great-grandchildren, Ethan Clark-Holbrook, Hank, Lacey, Arlis, Grant, and Graham Shirey, Charlie, Joey Lynn, Hudson, and Greta Neal, Taylor, Kyle, Jordan, Makayla, and Hope Burchett, and Noah Phillips; two great great grandsons; a sister, Barb Wallace of Tarpon Springs, Fl; special niece, Karen Rogers; several nieces and nephews; several half brothers and sisters, and her brother-in-law, Jesse Johnson of Florida.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville. Burial will be in Scioto Burial Park at a later date.
