Carolyn Ann “Cookie” Murphy Green

Carolyn Ann “Cookie” Murphy Green, 83, of Lucasville, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 13, 1941 in Lucasville, a daughter of the late William and Ollietha Burke Murphy. She was a member of the first graduating class of Northwest High School in 1959 and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Cookie was preceded in death by four brothers, William “Sonny”, Lawrence “Pete”, Carl, and Johnny Murphy.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Green, whom she married March 12, 1960 in Lucasville. They shared 64 beautiful years together. They raised four children: Timothy (Karen) Green of Lucasville; Rhonda Farris of Portsmouth; David Green of Lucasville; and Melissa (Robert) Hill of Montrose, Colorado. She was the loving Granny to four grandchildren, Robert Green, Stephanie Green, Jamie Smith, and Jacob Farris; and four great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy: Zach, Leslie, Piper, and Greyson. And she was the loving sister of Irma Ehrman of Minneola, Florida.

The family would like to thank SOMC Hospice and all of her caregivers for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, with Tim Throckmorton officiating. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, November 29, 2024 and an hour before the funeral on Saturday.
