Ross Lee Bowers, III
Ross Lee Bowers, III, 77, quietly met his maker September 26, 2024. He has been battling Parkinson’s and End Stage Renal Disease for many years. A member of Sandhill Christian Baptist Church, he is survived by his wife of 51 years Bunny, (Anna Marie) in Franklin Furnace; two sons, James Russell and Nicholaus Jahnz of Savannah; 10 grandchildren, and two brothers, Bob (Valerie), and Bill (Carol).
Ross gave his life to the Lord and to the education of many Respiratory Therapy Students. He took a hospital-based program in Savannah, Georgia and turned it into a University Baccalaureate Program that was Nationally recognized for Excellence. He wrote the licensure for Georgia Respiratory Care and he was President for many years for the Savannah Chapter of the Ambucs which worked with Americans with disabilities and was instrumental in getting the Amtrykes started in that chapter for children with disabilities. He loved his Georgia Bull Dawgs and could talk football for days, he was fun loving and loved his Church and the people in it. He never met a person that he didn’t like and he was easy to love.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024 at Sandhill Christian Baptist Church with Jared Timberlake officiating. Burial will be at Haverhill Cemetery. Friends may call at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
