Benjamin Carl Crabtree
Benjamin Carl Crabtree, age 66, of Lucasville, Ohio, passed away on April 10, 2024, in Piketon, Ohio. He was born April 20, 1957 in Portsmouth, Ohio a son of the late Alzada Parsley Crabtree and Carl William Crabtree of Lucasville.
Ben was a 1975 Valley High School graduate. He was a retired Boilermaker, former Valley Township Trustee, Lucasville Little League coach and president, as well as a beloved babysitter for all of his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Ben was known for his dedication to his family and community.
In his free time, Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, watching his grandchildren play ball, and his sons coach.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Patrick Crabtree; his sons, Nolan (Amanda) Crabtree and Logan (Janelle) Crabtree; his grandchildren, Carter Munion-Nickel, Linkin Jacob Crabtree, Camden Nolan Crabtree, and Scotlyn Maye Crabtree; his father, Carl William Crabtree; his brother, Jason (Rhonda) Crabtree; and his sisters Dawn (Jeff) Keller-Phillips and Julie (Paul) Phipps.
Ben was preceded in death by his mother, Alzada Louise Crabtree.
The family would like to thank The Pavilion at Piketon and SOMC Hospice for their loving care and support during trying times.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 14, at 4:00 p.m. at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, with Luke Keller officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Cemetery on Cockrell’s Run Road. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ben’s name to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th St., Portsmouth, OH 45662.
