Juanita Marie Picklesimer
Juanita Marie Picklesimer, 96 of Lucasville passed away peacefully Saturday, January 10, 2026 at SOMC Hospice, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 27, 1929 in Lucasville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jesse and Marie (Newman) Price.
Juanita was retired from the US Postal Service, a member of the Lucasville American Legion Auxiliary, secretary of the Lucasville Historical Society, member of Center Street Church in Lucasville where she faithfully attended for 87 years. Over the years, she served as a Sunday school teacher, treasurer, director of the youth group and Christmas plays and Tabitha’s Table, the quilting group. She looked forward to all family gatherings and all of us looked forward to her roast and dumplings. She always got a laugh out of our Pickle Party Games and our all-ages Easter egg hunt.
She is survived by, her son, Barry (Connie) Picklesimer, her daughter, Barb (John) Ashworth, 27 grandchildren, Julie (Kevin) Smith, Lori Picklesimer, Gina (Randy) McClay, Matt (Ann) Hamilton, Andy (Stephanie) Hamilton, Joe (Monica) Mossbarger, Debi (Chris) Cole, Jeremy (Jamie) Rockwell, Jon Hamilton, Chris Ashworth, Jason (Rachel) Ashworth, Angi (George) Gilbert, Nick (Jamee) Rockwell, Jed (Jennifer) Picklesimer, Justin (Jerilyn) Ashworth; 28 great grandchildren, Taylor Burchett, Klaire (Katy) and Dakota Smith, Aaron (Lindsey) McClay, Mercedes Perez, Sakorah and Jace Mossbarger, Carter and Chloe Cole, Kahler (Makayla) Rockwell, Elizabeth (Gaven) Traylor, Caylie Hamilton, Zoe, Lahna, Sophia and Archer Pierce, Lily, Lucy, Loralie, Elaina and Penelope Rockwell, Oran and Olivia Picklesimer and James and John Ashworth; three great great grandchildren, Greyson and Lincoln Traylor and Kallum Rockwell; and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Tim Price.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Ora Picklesimer, her daughter Anita Hamilton, and three brothers, Bernard, Kleo and Carl Price.
The family would like to thank the staff of SOMC Hospice for providing excellent care to our mom/grandma and for taking care of the rest of us as well.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Center Street Church in Lucasville with Phil Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the church and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth OH or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
