Jerry Nelson Kirkendall

Jerry Nelson Kirkendall, 78, of McDermott, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025 at SOMC Hospice.

He was born March 15, 1947 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Clifton and Ruth Bergman Kirkendall. Jerry was a 1967 Northwest High School graduate, and a retired foundry laborer from OSCO Industries, where he worked for 36 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Josh Kirkendall.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rawlins Kirkendall, who he married on June 21, 1969 in South Webster; two sons, Christopher (Jennifer) Kirkendall of Portsmouth, and Jason Kirkendall of McDermott; two grandchildren, Lacey and Matthew; and a great-grandchild, Malorie Kirkendall.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Christ’s Community Church in Portsmouth, with Matt Rawlings officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the services at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home.
