Martha Mae Jones
Martha Mae Jones, 82, of West Portsmouth, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at SOMC Hospice.
She was born July 21, 1942, in Blue Creek, a daughter of the late Buster and Lula Mae Stepp Evans. Martha was a retired physical therapy assistant for the Southern Ohio Medical Center, SOMC Home Care, and Carter Rehab and Nursing Center. She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord, in whom she is now with. Her last church home was Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her former husband, Lowell Milton Frump; her husband, Verl Gordon “Sam” Jones; two brothers, John Evans and Joseph Evans; a sister, Mary Hamm; and two step-children, David Jones and Sandra Jones.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Kevin Lee) Moore of West Portsmouth, and Debra (Ted) Bair of Twin Valley; a son, Phillip Leroy (Lori) Frump of West Portsmouth; two brothers, David Evans of Blue Creek, and Tim Evans of Gulf Port, Mississippi; two sisters, Mattie Taylor of Stout, and Naomi Kemmeter of Adams County; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, with Ray Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
