Winona Joan Steele

Winona Joan Steele, 90, of Lucasville, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 at her residence.

She was born February 25, 1934 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Raymond and Susie Crabtree Martin. Winona was a 1953 McDermott High School graduate and retired with 45 years of service from Waller Brothers. She was a member of McDermott Community of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Melvin Steele Jr. on September 20, 2017; five brothers, Raymond “Jack” Martin, Tom Martin, Larry Martin, Bernard “Buck” Martin, and Eddie Martin; and one sister, Annette Martin.

She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews who adored their “Aunt Nona.”

Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, February 10, 2025 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, with Sandy Cable officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Cemetery on Cockrell’s Run Road. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the funeral on Monday at the funeral home.
