Patricia Ann Prose
Patricia Ann Prose, 79, of McDermott, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at SOMC Hospice.
She was born December 14, 1943 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Jean Adell Burke Phipps.
Pat was a retired Travel Counselor for AAA of Southern Ohio, a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and a 1961 Northwest High School graduate.
She was married to Walter Louis Prose on April 28, 1962 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in West Portsmouth. They celebrated 61 years of marriage earlier this spring.
Pat is survived by her husband Walter, two sons, Keith (Sherri) Prose of Lucasville and Brian Prose of McDermott; one daughter, Rebecca (Jason) Lovins of McDermott; four grandchildren, Kyle (Kala) Prose, Cory Prose, Noah (Claire) Lovins, and Anna Lovins; three great grandchildren, Vivian , Julien, and Rosalia; and one brother, Randy Phipps of Peebles and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Prose; two brothers, John Phipps and Melvin “Doc” Phipps; and three sisters, Zelda Phipps, Sandy Spicer, and Shelba Tackett.
Visitation will be held 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday September 14, 2023 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville where a recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Noon, Friday, September 15, 2023 at Holy Trinity Church on Pond Creek with Father Droll officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
