Gary Dale Carr

Gary Dale Carr, 85, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at his home.  He was born September 2, 1937 in Pike County, Ohio to the late Butler and Helen Bryant Carr.   Surviving are his daughters, Sarah Carr (Destry Looney) of Waverly and Jamie (Jimmy) Forbes of Piketon; grandchildren, Dustin Carr (Dayna Gumm), Teddy (Zoe) Ryan, Connor Carr, Elisha, Emma and Ellie Looney, and Jillian, Jaylin, James IV and Jacelyn Forbes; great-grandchildren, Ivey, Audri, Emma, Shoshanna, George and Major; and many other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Carr Jr.; daughters, Cynthia Farris and Mary Carr; a granddaughter, Brittany Farris; and brothers, Jim and Bill Carr.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired as an Instrument Mechanic from Martin Marietta.  He had a great sense of humor and was loved by many.  Gary was a friend to all who knew him and was a wonderful provider and to his family was one of the greatest men to have ever lived.  He stepped up as a father figure to his grandchildren whenever they were in need.  He loved his children immeasurably and was a grateful believer in Jesus Christ.
