Larry Harold Drake

Larry Harold Drake, 74, of Wheelersburg, passed away Saturday July 15, 2023 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born July 12, 1949 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Claude and Francis (Ockerman) Drake.

Larry was a U.S. Army Veteran and formerly worked at the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a longtime member of James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, collecting old trains, traveling, playing his guitar and checking Ancestry.

Larry is survived by his wife, Deborah (Stepp) Drake; two sons, Michael Drake and wife Schreena of Lucasville, Steve Taylor and wife Meredith of Cincinnati; a daughter Angela Conley and husband Zane of Wheelersburg; a brother, Jerry Drake and wife Teresa of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Heather (Matthew) McClain, Colin Taylor, Olivia Conley, Cayde Conley and Zoe Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Bristol and Maci McClain; nephews, Josh (Melanie) Drake and Dustin (Danielle) Drake.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Janet Sue Drake.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday July 18, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Shannon Bowling officiating. Interment will follow at Wheelersburg Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be 4 to 7 PM Monday and from 11 to 1 PM prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
