 Cecil Delano Kammer

Cecil Delano Kammer, 81, of Grove City, died Friday, March 17, 2023 at Mt. Carmel Grove City. He was born April 4, 1941 to the late William and Frances Lykins Kammer.

Cecil was a graduate of Portsmouth West High School and a Vietnam Era Army veteran. He married Jacquline Lucas Kammer on August 6, 1960 in Portsmouth and the couple were married 56 years at the time of her death on May 12, 2017.

An over-the-road truck driver, Cecil enjoyed fishing and hunting and, together, he and Jacquline enjoyed camping and participating in car shows. He spent free time with his fellow veterans at the American Legion Don Gentile Post #532 in Columbus, where he was a member.

Surviving are his three children, Timothy Rodger (Gaynell) Kammer of Columbus, Dwane Edward (Tonya) Kammer of Grove City and Janice Ann (Gerald) Ryan of Circleville; three brothers, Robert Kammer of KY, Charles Kammer of South Bloomfield and Tom Kammer of Newark; a sister, Dorothy Smith of Hilliard; six grandchildren; and 16 grandchildren.

Cecil was also preceded in death by three sisters, Barb, Billie and Frances Delores; and two half-sisters, Thelma and Freida.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes, Minister, officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery. The James Dickey Post #23 American Legion will conduct military rites.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 A.M. until the service hour.
