Faye M. Sherman (Frazee)
Faye M. Sherman (Frazee), 91, of Sciotoville, passed away on Thursday February 23, 2023 at Hillview Retirement Center.
She was born May 31, 1931 in Sciotoville to the late Henry and Melissa (Logan) Frazee. She graduated from Portsmouth East High School, class of 1949. She married Donald R. Sherman on July 25, 1948.
Alongside her husband, Don, she founded and operated one of the largest and most respected insurance agencies in Southern Ohio, The Sherman-Kricker Insurance Agency. Faye was a Kentucky Colonel and was active in numerous civic organizations.
Faye was past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Portsmouth and a multi-year member of the Cincinnati Insurance President’s Club. Faye was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Faye is survived by her five children, Tony (Sharon) Sherman of Wheelersburg, Tom (Veronica) Sherman of Dublin, Sue (Mark) Howard of Myrtle Beach, Sally Bias of Portsmouth and Timothy (Fran) Sherman of Powell; 12 grandchildren, Melissa (Jared) Smith, Joshua Sherman, Megan (Randy) Johnson, John Justice, Amanda (Ismail) Unerli, Kristin Howard, Emily (Alex) Rider, Patrick Bias, Amber Sherman, Conner (Aubrey) Sherman, Nickolas (Heather) Sherman and Grace Sherman; twelve great-grandchildren, Sophia Justice, Macyn Johnson, Jacob Sherman, Isabella Sherman, Jackson Jenkins, Leyla Unerli, Evren Unerli, Sean Unerli, Olive Sherman, Sunny Sherman, Griffin Rider, Annabelle Rider and a sister, Teresa Browning of Wheelersburg.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Donald Sherman of 63 years, a sister Charlotte Hardy, brothers Ronald Frazee and Mike Frazee, one great-grandson Bailey Chase Sherman and son-in-law Craig Bias.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the employees of Wesley Village for all their love and care shown to Faye during her stay there.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4:30 PM Sunday February 26, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville with a funeral service to follow at 4:30 PM with Ralph Clay officiating. Private graveside service will be held on Monday at Old Wheelersburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Wesley Village or the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
