Harold Joseph Harness

Harold Joseph Harness, 87, of Lucasville, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.

He was born January 15, 1936 in Lucasville a son of the late Joseph Franklyn and Viola Grace Craig Harness.

Harold was a retired Paving Foreman for Ohio Asphalt and Cunningham Asphalt, a member of the Lucasville Center Street Church, and a 1953 Valley High School graduate.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Hoffer Harness, April 2, 2007; one son, Craig Randall Harness; one brother, Jack Harness, and one sister, Barbara Cooper.

Harold is survived by his wife, Linda Curtis Stambaugh Harness, whom he married November 28, 2008; his daughters, Kimberly Jo (Larry) Castle of Minford, Tammi Stambaugh of Portsmouth, Shauna (Brian) Lugenbeel of Cornelius, NC, and Jodi (Jason) Dunham of Lucasville; six grandchildren, McKenna and Jalen Dunham, Brandon, Jacob, Blake, and Ashlyn Lugenbeel; two brothers, Donald (Virginia) Harness of Westerville and David (Debbie) Harness of Lucasville; sister-in-law Nancy Harness; and brother-in-law James Cooper.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Lucasville Center Street Church with Phil Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. till the funeral hour at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
