Aaron Matthew Crawford
Aaron Matthew Crawford, 49, of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1973, in Portsmouth, a son of Ronald Lee and Phyllis Ann Rayburn Crawford, who survive.
Aaron was a former roofer and he had worked as a welder for Worthington Industries and as a sub-contractor for railway companies. He loved to fish and hunt, as well as garden. Aaron was a huge fan of the OSU Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns and he was dearly loved by his nieces, nephews and their children.
Surviving are his parents, Phyllis and Ron Crawford of Portsmouth; sister, Nancy L. (Richard) Crawford Jordan of South Portsmouth, KY; nieces and nephews, Kayla Renea Lay, Amy Lynne Dixon, Miranda Danielle (Damian Hill) Stamper, Isaiah West, R. Daniel Jordan and Adrian Jordan; great nieces and nephews, Landon and Kinsley Lay, Rowan Hjelvik, Sebastian Davies, and another great-niece due soon; and several aunts and uncles, Ronald (Donna) Rayburn of Centerburg, Robert (Mary) Rayburn of Worthington, Darrell (Gayle) Rayburn of Sanford, NC, Nancy (Ronald) Bryan of Elizabethtown, PA and Albert (Norma) Crawford of Portsmouth, Norman McGinnis of Portsmouth and their families.
Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry Farris & Helen Elizabeth Bobst Rayburn and Donald Burt & Nancy Helen Dixon Crawford; and aunts & uncles, Etta Louise McGinnis, Chester Farris Rayburn, Everett Leroy Rayburn and Kenneth Michael Rayburn.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 P.M. at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Bishop Michael Dempsey and Pastor Richard Jordan officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11 A.M. until the service hour.
