Emma Jane Hancock

Emma Jane Hancock of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023-just shy of 90 years old.

An Ohio native, Emma was immensely proud of her son and family, loved her little apartment in Broadway Towers, and enjoyed a good card game or two-winning most of the time.

She attended Kingdom Faith Church and sang harmony with the best of them. Knowing Emma, we learned the key to a long life is strong faith, plenty of peaches, and a little bit of orneriness thrown in the mix. She told us she was ready to see Jesus. We believe she was greeted by special family and friends when she got to Heaven that night. We remember her with love.

Emma is survived by her son, Robin (Brenda) Hancock, grandson, Christopher (Miranda) Hancock, granddaughter, Stephanie (Brandon) Baird, great grandchildren, Blaine, Karissa, Hannah and Connor, brother Bob (Gail) Weaver, sister Mildred Smith, sister-in-law Connie Weaver, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy (Lynden) Weaver, father Clarence Martin, former husband, Don Hancock, sisters, Helen Blankenship, Mary Greenlief, Lenora Webb and brothers, Raymond Martin, Bill Weaver, Henry Martin, David Weaver, and Edward Martin.

Services will be held at McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 1 p.m. (Visitation prior starting at 11:30 am) Graveside service to follow at Mound Cemetery in Piketon, Ohio.
