Margaret Hammond, 89, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at her residence.

She was born August 10, 1933 in Greenup County, KY a daughter of the late Earl Roy and Lucy Virginia Campbell Shearer.

She was a retired Assembly Line worker for Beckman Electronic in Paso Robles, California, and a foster grandparent at the Carrousel Center in New Boston. She was a member of the United Church of God in West Portsmouth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Hammond; two brothers, Lewis E. Shearer and Darrell Shearer; and one sister, Delores Massie.

Margaret is survived by two sisters, Jennie Frasher of Lucasville and Shirley Finney of Bonita Springs, Florida.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 in U.P. Cemetery at Mt. Joy with Kevin Call officiating. There will be no visitation.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
