Patrol investigates an ATV fatal crash

On Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 4:46 a.m. the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Patrol received a call of an ATV crash on CR-136, Big Run Road near milepost #2. The ATV was operated by Christopher R. Spencer, 39 of Lucasville, Ohio.

The ATV was travelling eastbound on Big Run Road when it failed to negotiate a curve traveling off the left side of the roadway striking an embankment. The ATV overturned, then traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a tree. The driver of the ATV succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The passenger of the ATV was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
