2020 Dog and Kennel licenses available for purchase
Scioto County Auditor David L. Green announces that 2020 dog and kennel licenses are now available for purchase
The fee is $12.00 per dog for an Annual license, $36.00 per dog for a three year licenses and 120.00 per dog for a permanent license. Annual kennel licenses are available to qualifying applicants for a fee of $60.000.
The Deadline for purchase of 2020 dog or kennel licenses is January 31, 2020. Licenses purchased after this date, except for licenses for newly acquired dogs, will be subject to a $12.00 penalty for each dog license and $60.00 penalty for each kennel licenses in addition to the regular license fee.
Scioto County residents may purchase dog licenses through our online dog licensing system by visiting www.doglicenses.us/OH/Scioto. A small processing fee applies to online orders and is retained by the software vendor. Dog owners may also visit the website and print an application to complete and mail to the Auditor’s office along with a check or money order for the license fee.
Licenses may also be purchases in person at the Scioto County Auditor’s Office, located on the first floor of the Scioto County Courthouse at 602 7thStreet, Room 103. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additionally, annual dog licenses may be purchased at the County Dog Pound, located just off of U.S. 23 at 95 N. Arrowhead Dr., Portsmouth, between 8;30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Three-year licenses, permanent licenses and kennel licenses are not available for purchase at the dog pound.
Mr. Green wishes to remind residents that all dogs in Scioto County are required to be licensed, including housedogs and dogs that are tied on a leash or kept in a pen. Unregistered dogs may be impounded by the Scioto County Dog Pound in accordance with Ohio law.
