TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert K. Ware announce that two individuals have been arrested on drugs charges after a joint operation conducted by the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

On May 22, 2019 at approximately 9:12p.m., a vehicle being driven by 57 year old Johnny P. Wilds of Hardscrabble Road West Portsmouth, Ohio was stopped by law enforcement personnel in the 700 block of Dry Run Rd. in West Portsmouth.  During a search of the vehicle, officers seized approximately (87) grams of suspected heroin.  $751 was seized from Wilds’ person.  The suspected heroin seized had an estimated street value of $10,440.

28 year old Jennifer Rose King of Portsmouth, Ohio was an occupant in the vehicle and was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest that had been issued by Portsmouth Municipal Court.

Both Wilds and King were charged with Possession of Drugs, a felony of the 1st degree, and placed in the Scioto County Jail.  At the time King was processed at the jail, correction officers discovered a small plastic bag containing an unidentified powder hidden on King’s person.

Wilds and King were to be arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 9:00a.m.

The case against Wilds and King will eventually be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional felony charges.
