Joint Statement from Shawnee State University and Shawnee Education Association
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – In a joint statement released today, Shawnee State University (SSU) and Shawnee Education Association (SEA) announced that SEA members voted to ratify a tentative agreement for a three-year successor contract for faculty of Shawnee State University. The Shawnee State University will consider the ratification agreement during a special meeting at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20 in the Carlisle Building in Chillicothe, OH.
“I want to thank the members of the negotiation team for working together over the past few months to develop a tentative agreement that addresses our current fiscal challenges, maintains competitive compensation and benefits, and allows us to continue to keep tuition costs low for our students,” Dr. Jeff Bauer, SSU Interim President, said. “Our faculty and administrators share in advancing our mission of preparing today’s students to succeed in tomorrow’s world — and are leading efforts that strengthen the institution and its service to students and the community.”
