Body Found

On Oct. 11, 2018 at approximately 1717 hours, Officers with the Portsmouth Police Department were called to a vacant lot just west of 2809 Gallia Street in reference to a body being discovered in a wooded area.  Upon officers’ arrival, they discovered human remains in the wooded area.  Investigators with the Portsmouth Police Department and the Scioto County Coroner’s Office were contacted and responded to the incident location to take over the investigation.  The Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification was contacted and responded to assist. The location was processed by BCI & I and investigators with Portsmouth Police Department.

On Oct. 12, 2018, the Coroner’s Office positively identified the remains as Nathan S. Fowler, a 34 year old white male from Portsmouth, Ohio. Mr. Fowler had been reported missing on October 5, 2018.
